Welcome to Ginma
This agreement outlines the understanding between you and Ginma regarding your use of the application. Ginma is designed as a personal tool for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts to organize, visualize, and understand their collections. By using Ginma, you acknowledge the terms described herein.
Core Application Philosophy
Ginma operates on principles of user sovereignty, local data management, and focused utility. The application is a standalone tool that functions entirely on your device.
- Local-First Design: All data you input—including keyboard photos, specifications, purchase details, and comparison results—is stored exclusively on your personal device. No data is transmitted to external servers or third parties by default.
- User as Controller: You have full and exclusive control over your collection database. You may add, modify, delete, or export your data at your discretion.
- No Account Required: Access to Ginma's core functionalities does not require the creation of a user account, login, or provision of personal identifiers.
Your Data, Your Device
The application's architecture ensures that your mechanical keyboard collection remains private. Photos are stored in your device's local storage, and all analytical insights (like collection size, layout distribution, brand statistics, and spending summaries) are generated on-device from your locally stored entries.
Application Functionality
Ginma provides the following features for managing your mechanical keyboard collection:
- Collection Catalog: Add keyboards with photographs, detailed specifications (switches, keycaps, layout, connectivity, etc.), and purchase information.
- Visual Grid & Filters: Browse your entire collection through a clean, visual grid interface with search and filter capabilities based on layout, brand, or other specs.
- Side-by-Side Comparison: Select any two keyboards to compare their build, components, and pricing in a dedicated view. Save notable comparison results to your history for quick reference.
- Collection Analytics: The Stats view presents insights derived from your catalog, such as total collection size, layout distribution, top brands, and aggregated spending. These analytics are computed locally.
Data Management & Privacy
Ginma's approach to data is defined by local processing and user ownership.
- Storage Location: All application data resides in your device's local storage or sandboxed app directories.
- Data Persistence: Your collection persists on your device until you manually delete entries or uninstall the application. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data if desired.
- External Permissions: The application may request access to your device's photo library or camera solely for the purpose of adding images to your keyboard entries. This access is used locally and is not combined with other data sources.
Usage Guidelines
You agree to use Ginma in a manner consistent with its intended purpose as a personal collection management tool. The application is provided for individual, non-commercial use by keyboard enthusiasts.
Disclaimer of Warranty
Ginma is provided "as is" for your personal use. The developer is not liable for any loss of data resulting from device failure, accidental deletion, or application uninstallation. It is recommended that users periodically back up their device data.
