At Ginma, we've designed the entire app around a simple principle: your data belongs to you. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our application.
How We Handle Your Data
Local-First Design Philosophy
By design, all of your personal collection data is stored exclusively on your own device. We do not have remote servers that collect, store, or process your Ginma data. This means you maintain complete control over your collection information at all times.
When you enter keyboard details, upload photos, or save comparison history in Ginma, this information never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to back it up or share it yourself.
Information You Provide
- Collection Content: This includes all the information you manually enter into Ginma for your keyboards: photos, specifications, purchase details, notes, and comparison history. All of this content stays on your device.
- Device Storage: Ginma uses your device's local storage to maintain your collection database and any settings you've customized within the app.
Information We Never Collect
Personal Identifiers
We don't collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.
Collection Data
Your keyboard photos, specs, and purchase details never leave your device.
Usage Analytics
We don't track how you use the app or send usage statistics to any external servers.
Third-Party Tracking
There are no analytics tools, ad networks, or other tracking technologies embedded in Ginma.
Backup and Data Export
Ginma may offer features that allow you to back up your data to a cloud storage service that you choose and control, or export your collection data to a file. When you use these features, your data is handled according to the privacy practices of the service you choose to use for backup or sharing. Ginma itself does not process or store this backup data on our servers.
What About App Updates?
When you update Ginma through your device's app store, the application communicates with the store's servers to check for and deliver updates. This communication is governed by the respective app store's privacy policy, not by this policy. Ginma itself still does not collect any of your personal data or collection information during this process.
Your Control & Rights
Because all your data lives on your device, you retain complete control over it at all times.
Data Access
You can access all of your Ginma collection data directly within the app at any time.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual keyboard entries or your entire collection directly within the app at any time. Uninstalling Ginma from your device will remove all Ginma-related data from your device.
Data Portability
You can export your entire collection from Ginma at any time in a portable format that you can store or use in other applications.
No Data Sales
We never have access to your data, so we can never sell it, share it, or monetize it in any way.

Ginma was created by mechanical keyboard enthusiasts who value privacy. We built this app because we wanted a tool that would let us organize our own collections without giving up our personal information. This commitment to privacy will never change as we continue to develop and improve Ginma.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy and include a summary of the changes in the policy itself.
